100% Frankovka Modrá (Blaufränkisch), the most characteristic red variety of the old Habsburg monarchy, its 'Empress'. Grown on the extinct Sitno Volcano that erupted millions of years ago (one of the largest in history), and cellared within the volcano itself. Partially destemmed and lightly pressed, fermented with native yeast, and rested in neutral barrels for 3 years before being bottled unfiltered with minimal SO2. A totally unique Skovakian expression of Blaufränkisch, classic red cherries, mulchy and earthy, ashy volcanic minerality, dill, coriander and black pepper spice. Truly unique and amazing.
