The product of a one-man operation in the Chubu region of Honshu.
The Yuzu is a citrus fruit and plant originating in Southern Japan. It is believed to be a hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda. This fruit resembles a very small grapefruit with uneven skin texture and can be either yellow or green depending on the degree of ripeness. Yuzu fruits, which are very aromatic, typically ranging from 5.5 and 7.5 cm in diameter. However, some can be as large as a grapefruit. The yuzu used for these bitters are purchased directly from the farmers in Tokushima prefecture, where it is known as the yuzu production district.
