Bethlehem, West Bank, Palestine
100% hand harvested Baladi (Arabic for “native” and/or “of the country”). Cremisan Cellars is located between the West Bank and Jerusalem, and is home to The Salesian Sisters Convent and School and the Salesian Monastery, both founded by Italian Roman Catholic Priest Don Bosco in 1885. The winery is all organic and staffed by Palestinians, and a portion of the proceeds go back to the community to improve education for all and help disadvantaged youth. The fruit is hand picked, destemmed, softly pressed into stainless steel for fermentation, and aged in neutral Hungarian oak casks. This medium bodied and dry red wine is complex and elegant, with wild bush berries, plumb, mediterranean herbs, and earthy minerality.
